My second poem

I wrote this poem when I climbed up on my bunk bed, as I was getting ready to sleep last night. My bunk bed is high, close to the fan, so that gave me the idea for this poem.

There was a man,
Sleeping on his bunk bed,
He forgot to switch off the fan,
And it chopped off his head.

My first poem, March 1 2009

This is my first poem. I wrote this at noon when I was having lunch at Navaratna with dad and Anjali. We ordered food and were waiting for lunch to be served, and I was thinking of rhyming words like bat, cat, rat. That is when I created this poem.

It ate a rat
And became very fat

My results day in grade 1, February 2009

On Saturday my mom and I went to school for the last open day for grade 1, and we got my report card. I got a lot of A+ grades and was happy. Sona maam gave us a class photo and a poem from her. Sona maam wanted to give me a hug but I was very shy.

Achu had a baby brother, February 2009

My friend Achu had a baby brother on Friday. Achu's mom and the baby are still in hospital.

Selected for football coaching at school, February 2009

I was selected for football coaching class conducted during school vacations by Dev sir and Vinod sir, and I was very happy. My mom bought for me nice soccer shoes with spikes at the bottom, some wristbands, and soccer dress.

Visit by Dad's friend, February 2009

Dad's friend Vipul and his wife Nivedita visited us in February. Nivedita aunty was very nice and friendly with Anjali, and she stopped Anjali from crying. Anjali was also teaching Nivedita aunty like a school teacher. Our families went to Lonavala near Ambi valley in the evening, but it got dark and we could not see much, so we ate some 'bhutta' (corn) and returned to Mumbai.

Nandu uncle visit, January 2009

Nandu uncle, Devi aunty and my cousin Jagannath came from Delhi to stay with us for a few days. We all went for sightseeing in Mumbai, and visited gateway of India, chowpatty beach, and the naval base. I was excited to see Hotel Taj and Hotel Trident where the terrorist attacks happened, and I saw that many parts of the hotel were covered with wooden planks. We had dinner at Samrat restaurant near Churchgate, the food was very nice and I ate a lot.

Trip to Gandhinagar, December 2008

During Christmas holidays, my family and I went to Gandhinagar in Gujarat state. That is my mother's hometown, and my grandmother Sarojani, Satish mama and Geeta aunty stay there. We went to a lot of places in Gandhinagar, like sector 28 garden, Gandhinagar zoo (from where I picked up some big feathers), science city, and Gandhiji's home in Ahmedabad. We travelled to Somnath temple near the sea, which is far from Gandhinagar, and we stayed in a hotel there.
